Ingredients
- 3 pieces of sandwich bread, cut into halves

1 egg

Milk of the same volume as egg (about 50ml)

sugar (1 tsp or to taste)

About 1/4 tsp of cinnamon powder

butter
-
maple syrup (or honey)
- Icing sugar/ powdered sugar, fruits (optional)
Directions
- Whisk egg and milk together. Add sugar and cinnamon powder and mix well.
In a non-stick frying pan, add some butter. Turn on the heat.
Dip sandwich bread in egg mixture and let the bread soak up the liquid on both sides. When the butter in frying pan starts bubbling, put the soaked bread into the pan. When the surface is cooked to golden brown, turn and pan sear the other side until golden brown.
Put the cooked bread on a plate, add butter, dust some icing sugar and drizzle with maple syrup or honey. Add fruits such as berries if you like. Done!
Recipe Note
If you don’t have cinnamon powder, I think you can use mixed spice too and it tastes good too.
