Ingredients
-
10 scallop meat (defrost if previously frozen)
-
one broccoli
-
one clove of garlic
-
1 to 2 tablespoon of Chinese Shaoxing wine (紹興酒)
- salt and pepper
Directions
- Defrost the scallop and rub some salt and pepper on it. Wash broccoli and cut out the flower part. Peel the trunk part and slice it. Chop the garlic.
In a frying pan, add some oil and stir fry the broccoli. When broccoli is half cooked, add in garlic and stir fry until fragrant but not browned. Add in scallops.
When the scallop starts turning opaque, add the wine.
Sprinkle pinch of salt and pepper on the broccoli. Adjust to taste.
Recipe Note
The trunk part of the broccoli is edible and it’s a waste to throw it away. There maybe a thick layer of fibrous skin. If you cut off that skin, the flesh of the trunk is very tasty and soft. So make sure you use that part as well. For presentation, you can hide the sliced trunk part underneath the scallops.
